Five Recipes Picky-Eaters Will Love

When they reach the age of toddlers, babies start developing food preferences. If you’re a parent and worrying about your child not eating enough and being too fussy, worry no more! You’re not alone! Many parents with toddlers face the same issue. To make your lives easier, here are 5 picky eater foods that you and your kid will enjoy. There is also an extra tip at the end to deal with picky eaters. 

These recipes are not only flavorful and fun to eat but also a healthy option for kids. Picky-eaters would love it because they look very appealing. The bell peppers, parsley, and other veggies add a pop of color to their everyday meals.  


1. Chicken Avocado Rolls 

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados, cubed
    Juice of 1 lime
    2 cups shredded chicken
    1 bell pepper chopped
    1/2 small red onion, chopped
    1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack
    1/2 cup shredded Cheddar
    2 tbsp. sour cream
    4 flour tortillas 

Directions:

It takes about 20 minutes to make. Keep the tortillas aside. In a bowl, combine avocado and lime juice and mash until small chunks remain. To it, add all the other ingredients. Spread this mixture onto the tortillas. Roll up the tortilla tightly and slice into 1” rolls. 

2. 5-Minute Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • ½ cup elbow macaroni
    ½ cup water
    3 tablespoons milk
    Salt
    Pepper
    ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese 

Directions

  • Mix the macaroni, water, and salt in a microwaveable mug. Microwave this for 2-3 minutes, then stir. Add the remaining ingredients. Microwave for another 30 seconds and stir 

3. Banana Peanut Butter Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas
    1/4 cup peanut butter
    2 Tortillas 

Directions

  • Start by spreading 2 tbsp. Of peanut butter on the tortilla and then place one banana on it and roll it up. Cut it into 1/2 inch rounds and serve. 

4. Donut Apples

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. cream cheese
    1/4 cup. Melted chocolate
    1 apple
    Assorted sprinkles, for decorating 

Directions

In a bowl, mix cream cheese and melted chocolate together. Stir together until combined. Slice the apple and use a cookie cutter to hollow out centers—spread mixture on apple slices and top with sprinkles. 

5. Pizza On a Stick

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza crust, tube
    Pepperoni slices
    10 mozzarella cheese sticks
    2 tbsp butter
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp dried parsley 

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

    Spread pizza dough on a baking sheet and cut it into 10equal sizes. Arrange pepperoni and mozzarella stick on each. Roll it up, pinching the seams closed. Add garlic powder and parsley to melted butter and brush it on the pizza sticks. Bake for 10-12 minutes. 

Extra Tip!

Toddlers always find it enjoyable to eat what they have cooked themselves. So, a tip for dealing with fussy eaters is to include them and let them make these meals for themselves. I’m sure they will end up eating it all! You can use these easy recipes for kids to make.
